Winter Break Felting Class

Join Lucia Semenoff as she guides you into the world of felting.
This class not only teaches foundational felting techniques, but also nurtures a deeper connection to the natural world. Lucia shares the story behind locally sourced wool—inviting participants to consider where this magical fibre comes from and the land it’s tied to.

She believes every art project holds a memory and a story. With materials gifted by the Earth, that story begins long before they reach our hands, and we are given the opportunity to carry it forward through our own creativity.

Lucia Semenoff is a talented artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in addition to her work as a teacher with the Calgary Board of Education. She is talented in many mediums with a deep love for felting and ceramics. We are overjoyed to have her as a guest teacher at Clay Nest Art Studio! To learn more about Lucia’s work visit www.luciasemenoff.com

This workshop will focus on 2D creations and felt painting. It is an intuitive practice that can be learned with ease. We recommend ages 6+ due to the risk nature of using needles as well as the attention span required for this meditative art. Adults are invited to attend as well - creating a special time of connection for all!

December 23rd 1-3PM

$40 per person

Please email info@claynestartstudio.com for enrollment.

Future felting programs to dive deeper into the practice and focus on 3D creations will be announced soon!

FREE Solstice Event!

December 21st | Drop in anytime between 1–3 PM

Come celebrate Winter Solstice with us at Clay Nest Art Studio!

We’ll have warm tea brewing and a cozy space for creating your own handmade holiday ornaments. This little Amanita mushroom ornament was crafted from dehydrated orange peel and Western Red Cedar—a sweet reminder of how magical natural materials can be.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
