Tell me about Wonder Nest!
Wonder Nest Studio is a playful, sensory-rich art and nature program for children ages 2–8. Through stories, movement and open-ended invitations, children explore paint, wool, clay, printmaking, cyanotypes and natural seasonal materials—often taking their creativity outdoors. Each session also includes a special kiln-fired clay project that children create, glaze and bring home.
Ages 2–3: Parent and Child
For our youngest artists, the focus is on experiencing the materials through sensory and process-based art.
Children are invited to squeeze, scoop, pour, mix, press, paint, build and explore alongside a parent or caregiver. These playful experiences support fine-motor development, coordination, confidence, emotional regulation and an inspire a love for creating. The emphasis is not on creating a perfect finished product. It is about curiosity, connection and all the learning that happens when young children are given the freedom to explore.
A parent or caregiver stays and participates with their child.
Ages 4–8: Independent Young Artists
Older children are given more space to work independently, follow their imaginations and develop foundational artistic skills.
Children are encouraged to make their own creative choices while receiving gentle guidance in techniques such as working with clay, print making, and discovering new materials and art mediums.
This age group may attend independently. Parents do not need to stay, although you are always welcome to!
Rooted in Nature
Time outdoors is an important part of Wonder Nest Studio.
Throughout the seasons—including during the winter—we aim to spend a meaningful portion of each class outside whenever conditions allow.
Children may gather inspiration and natural materials, engage in sensory play or bring their artistic exploration outdoors. This helps them slow down, notice the world around them and build a deeper relationship with nature.
Wonder Nest Studio gives children space to:
-
Explore art through sensory and process-based play
-
Build confidence, independence and creative problem-solving skills
-
Strengthen fine-motor skills and hand-eye coordination

Feel a sense of belonging while creating at their own pace
No previous art experience is needed. Every child is welcomed exactly where they are.
